Kratom Extract Cocktail

At Bula Tulum, we serve a variety of delicious Kratom Teas and are proud to be the first bar in Tulum to do so. Kratom Extract Cocktails will soon be coming to join these famed teas, from Bulatinis to Mystical Mules. But if you’re new to Kratom, you may be wondering - what actually is it?

While we serve our delicious Kratom elixirs in a bar, Kratom is no mere variation of alcohol. From giving that morning boost to some evening relaxation, we’re levelling up your usual bar experience…

What is Kratom? Kratom looks like any ordinary herb and is a member of the coffee plant family. But not all herbs are created equal! Kratom leaves start their life on the tropical evergreen and deciduous tree known as Mitragyna Speciosa, containing active compounds with mind-altering effects. These precious leaves are generally dried and crushed into a powder form, then steeped in water to make tea. At Bula Tulum, we also engage in extraction techniques to harvest the active compounds in liquid form, fostering maximum concentration.

Red Vein Kratom

Where does Kratom come from? Native to Southeast Asia, this herb has been used by Thai and Malaysian natives and workers for centuries due to its medicinal properties. The fertile soils of the region make the perfect bed for Kratom trees to grow tall (up to 82 ft!) and to enrich potent leaves. From one paradise to another, we source the highest quality organically grown Kratom from Southeast Asia and the Pacific islands.

Now you’ve had a (metaphorical) taste of Kratom, next time we’ll be sharing a Beginners Guide for the Kratom newbie, along with a deep dive into the different strains of Kratom and their special effects.

So we hope to be sharing some Kratom with you soon, at Bula Tulum.
